Zachary Quinto

Zachary Quinto, who plays bad-guy Sylar on NBC’s Heroes (tonight at 9 pm/ET), is preparing to enter sci-fi superstardom by taking on one of the genres most iconic roles, Spock, in the new Star Trek movie. The 30-year-old actor talked to TV Guide about his sudden rise to fame, the “new” Sylar and becoming a young Spock.1

Those darling little devils over at (JFX Online?, whose site appears to be either down or overloaded at the moment) have scored the first top secret (not anymore though) pics of Zachary Quinto on the set of Star Trek XI and he’s dressed as — yup — Spock. Freaky, the dude totally looks the part.2

Ending months of speculation, J.J. Abrams announced the first major casting in the director’s hush-hush re-energizing of the Star Trek movie franchise by tapping Zachary Quinto to play Spock, the hyper-logical science stud with the pointy ears and Vulcan death grip.3

Rumors dating back to December of 2006 speculated that Zachary Quinto had been in negotiations to play a young Spock in the upcoming eleventh Star Trek film. On July 23, 2007, several websites including E!4

Here is a first photo of Zachary Quinto as Spock in JJ Abrams ? The production is currently shooting in a chapel that has been converted to looked like a Vulcan Council Chamber of some sort.5

TV Guide posted an exclusive interview with the two Spocks from the new Star Trek movie, stars Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto, conducted at the Grand Slam XVI convention. Here are few excerpts.6
