IESB has an exclusive scoop stating that a Venom movie is in the works. Back in July Avi Arad publicly stated that he was working on the Venom movie.¹

Spider Man 3 was a huge let down. Seeing Venom being brought to life in his own feature film might be the only way to salvage him as a truly menacing movie villain.²

Gillespie and Williamson — this time as a producer — reunite for Venom and you would think they would have learned some things the second time around. Apparently not, as they re-package a lame concept for a new generation in the hopes that moviegoers either have short memories or are stupid enough not to notice the same meal served on a different plate.³

Sony Pictures has released a new back-lit movie theatre poster to help wet the palates of Spidey fans worldwide. This poster is an incredible depiction of the Spider-Man/Venom inner battle that’ll ensue come the now confirmed release date of 05/04/07.⁴

Corona Coming Attractions continued their investigation into the status of the Venom movie. In considering the question of whether or not it would be possible for Eddie Brock, Venom’s alter-ego, to make an appearance in the Spider-Man movie, CCA learned that the option on the character was no longer held by New Line Cinema.⁵

Many critics found Venom to be a stereotypical teen slasher movie. Spence D. from IGN Movies called it a ?Cookie cutter horror straight from the Swamps of Louisiana.?⁶
