Tommy Boy
Tommy Boy has remained in touch with a singular vision on unique high quality music, and is more than the sum of its parts. Even markets other labels wouldn?t touch, Tommy Boy crashed headlong into.1
Apparently, there was a lag of a year or so between the moment “Saturday Night Live” finally lost its appeal and the moment Hollywood executives figured it out. The result: THE CONEHEADS, IT’S PAT, and now TOMMY BOY, a low-brow comedy that tries to slide by on the dubious talents of SNL regulars Chris Farley (the loud, sweaty fat guy) and David Spade (the thin, supercilious long-distance pitchman).2
Important Note: TBSL content with a 01699 UPC prefix belongs to Tommy Boy Music and is controlled by Warner Music Group; TBSL content with a 66186 UPC prefix and a -0, -1, -2, or -4 suffix that is part of the catalog number belongs to Tommy Boy Entertainment. By any reasonable standard, Tommy Boy is stupid, disreputable junk. Just when you thought you’d erased the memory of Adam Sandler in Billy Madison playing a slobbo idiot who must prove that he’s worthy of taking over his father’s business, along comes Farley playing a slobbo idiot who must prove that he’s worthy of taking over his father’s business.4
“SNL” faves and “Tommy Boy” stars Chris Farley and David Spade reteam in this romp with Farley as the accident-prone brother of gubernatorial candidate Tim Matheson. In order to keep his goofy sibling from ruining his campaign, Matheson assigns assistant Spade to keep Farley out of trouble.5
