Robert Shaw runs the Value Based Marketing Forum, which researches good practice in marketing accountability and profitability and advises 5 professional institutes - CIMA, ICAEW, CIPS, CIM, IPA. He has written ten business books, including Marketing Payback (FT Prentice Hall 2005) and Database Marketing (Wiley 1997).1

Raised in Scotland and then Cornwall, Robert Shaw was drawn to acting and writing from his youth. In 1949 he debuted onstage at the Shakespeare Memorial Theater at Stratford-on-Avon.2

A regular guest conductor of major orchestras in this country and abroad, Mr. Shaw was also in demand as a teacher and lecturer at leading U. S. colleges and universities. The Robert Shaw Institute was founded in recent years to foster excellence in music-making, especially in the choral arts.3

Those who know the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus (there are actually two groups, counting the 180-voice symphonic choir and the 60-voice Chamber Chorus) only from attending its performances may not fully appreciate the loss its members felt over Robert Shaw’s passing. Shaw was a national and international icon of the choral conducting profession, and he brought a contagious enthusiasm to his work.4

The Independent - London; 1/27/1999; Martin Anderson; 990 words; Chorus during his time there. The Robert Shaw Chorale is dissolved in 1967 when Shaw moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to remain there until 1988.5

Historical accuracy is cast aside in the film version of Peter Shaffer’s play. Fueled by promises of gold, Pizarro (Robert Shaw) and his explorers make a third trip across the treacherous Andes Mountains to Peru.6
