Phi Kappa Psi
Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity is a Non-Profit, values based men's social organization. Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity is established in 1852 by two men, William Henry Lettermen and Charles Page Thomas Moore who had come to the aid of ill friends.1
It forms the Jefferson Duo along with Phi Gamma Delta, which was founded in 1848, also at Jefferson College. Through long nights of caring for a sick friend during an outbreak of disease, the founders grew to appreciate their service, and decided to form an organization that would ensconce these ideals, and on the dreary night of February 19, 1852, the brotherhood of Phi Kappa Psi was born.2
For young men, Phi Kappa Psi helps to shape the random experiences of the college years into a more stable form in which life beg ins to reveal larger, clearer purposes, and friendships become firm and lasting. In the middle years the Fraternity helps to sustain mature men in the settled courses of life, strengthening their resolve and renewing their spirits through the ripening of friendship.3
The founding of Phi Kappa Psi is in distinct contrast to the beginning of most other fraternities which grew, for the most part, from local clubs, formed without any idea of expansion. Phi Kappa Psi is founded as a national fraternity which should assemble within its folds outstanding students of kindred spirits at well-established colleges throughout the country.4
Anyone with knowledge of Phi Kappa Psi news, local happenings, or business topics would be a good fit. Please let one of the officers know if you would like to speak.5
