Patrick Dennehy
Patrick Dennehy is a junior forward who transferred to Baylor University from the University of New Mexico following his sophomore season in 2001?2002. Dennehy’s friend and former teammate at Baylor, Carlton Dotson, had played one season on the Baylor basketball team after transferring from Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas, in the summer of 2002, where he played two seasons.1
Kent County (Maryland) District Judge Floyd Parks agreed to keep former Baylor player Carlton Dotson in jail for 60 more days. This will allow the attorneys to work out the legal issues involved in extraditing Dotson to Texas to face charges for the murder of Patrick Dennehy.2
The story started when Baylor basketball player Patrick Dennehy is reported missing in June 2003. A month later, after teammate Carlton Dotson is charged for murder, Dennehy’s dead body is found in chest-high weeds.3
The apartment complex, with its manicured lawns and its well-maintained buildings, was the center of missing Baylor basketball player Patrick Dennehy’s world in Waco. It’s a short walk to his classes and a three-point shot from the Ferrell Center, the golden-domed basketball palace where Dennehy practiced and worked out.4
The search for Dennehy continued for several weeks until July 25, when a badly-decomposed body is found in a gravel pit near Waco and is taken to Dallas for an autopsy. The following day, medical examiners identified the body as being Patrick Dennehy.5
He was out to cover his ass for his involvement in a series of less than honorable and clearly improper actions that led to the death of Patrick Dennehy. Translation: He was ready to demonstrate his concept of teamwork by having the goods on anyone and everyone else in the room so that he could save his ass if this ever came to a head.6
