Mydd
MyDD is profiled in late 2005 as part of the article “Blogging Down the Money Trail” in Campaigns and Elections magazine. The article focused on the special election in Ohio’s second congressional district and the ability of blogs like MyDD, Daily Kos, and Swing State Project to raise funds for Democratic candidates and draw national attention to local races.1
Jerome Armstrong, a dishonest purveyor of Obama smears (and the proprietor of the once proud but now pathetic MyDD site), just had his ass kicked by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics. Someone posted a diary on MyDD correcting the smear and demanding a retraction.2
Apparent Hillary Clinton supporter Universal at MyDD wants the Democrats to realize the predicament they face in November if Barack Obama wins the nomination. He thinks the Republicans will create unfair and devastating advertising that will appeal to fear, using 9/11 imagery to derail Obama.3
Here are two quick methodological notes of interest to MP readers: First, MyDD pollster Joel Wright had considered an unusual method to weight the data by self-reported party registration (rather than identification). After much consideration, Wright decided against weighting by party, because his method would have raised the percentage of self-identified registered Democrats from 33% to 40% of his sample.4
