Looptopia could be a great event, the seeds of a great event were there. They need to hold it about 2 weeks later, to let things warm up a bit more.¹

Elements Contemporary Ballet will preview the upcoming Spring Concert 2008 this Friday at the Looptopia Festival, Chicago’s all-night downtown cultural celebration. The company will showcase new cutting edge works that combine the beauty of classical technique with the boldness of contemporary ideas.²

Please be aware that if you plan to attend any Looptopia events that take place after midnight, you must get an official Looptopia bracelet. You can get your Looptopia bracelet at any Looptopia information booth, on the night of the event.³

Chicago’s Looptopia 2008 will take place on the night of May 2, 2008. In 2007, Looptopia took place on May 11 and the weather was nothing short of frigid.⁴

It was difficult to enjoy the Loop last year during Looptopia under those circumstances.?I think Chicago has a lot to offer in the arts and this should be a great festival to showcase that. They just need some better resource planning and organization to manage it.⁵

A free event, Looptopia is expected to draw about 100,000 people to Chicago’s downtown to enjoy the city’s art, music, theater and architecture. Activities include a Chicago Opera Idol competition, late-night jazz at the Chicago Theatre and special programs at the Art Institute of Chicago.⁶

Three public events will be held at the hotel throughout the night, including a ?Broadway in Chicago? While the Palmer House booked about 400 rooms last year at the Looptopia rate ?⁷
