Lanny Davis

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:00 am

Lanny Davis is mind-bogglingly, hilariously awful. The funniest part is when Ashbrook asked him to jump in — practically with an engraved invitation — and Davis kept whining how he couldn’t get a word in edgewise.1

Look next to the definition of “Clinton loyalist” in the dictionary, and you’re likely to find a photo of Lanny Davis. The man who would have put Baghdad Bob to shame for his unflinching flackery during Bill’s Monica mess is back on the beat for Hillary.2

The panel was marked by a vituperative exchange between Liebermanite Lanny Davis, late of the Monica wars, and Lamontite Bill Hillsman of North Woods media, the populist genius behind Jesse Ventura. When Hillsman, wearing a striped western shirt, with his gut spilling proudly, called Lieberman a great liar who lacked independence, Davis in his blue suit became agitated and started yelling at the other panelist.3

A constitutional system of government cannot tolerate a chief executive who operates outside of the law, even if, in doing so, he implements policies that Lanny Davis thinks are swell. There is no ‘Lanny Davis exception’ to the rule of law.4

This incumbents’ backlash has in fact already begun. On today’s Wall Street Journal op-ed page comes Bill Clinton’s old lawyer, Lanny Davis, complaining about how those bloggers have treated Lieberman, for whom Davis campaigned in recent months.5

Mark Levin, president of the Landmark Legal Foundation, says Davis’job as White House special counsel is to serve the American people by advising the president on official matters, not to flack for the president when he gets into political trouble. Levin tells Insight that “at some point” Congress should investigate to determine “what exactly is Lanny Davis’ role” and whether the administration is “creating a Clinton-Gore campaign at taxpayers’ expense.”6
