Jules Undersea Lodge
Jules Undersea Lodge is the only underwater hotel in the United States. Because the access to the hotel is located 21 feet underwater, Scuba certification is required to stay at the hotel.1
Imagine having a bedroom window that glows deep green with light filtered through a mangrove lagoon, and stepping out of the main entrance of your hotel straight into a diving area of the most incredible biodiversity. Formerly a research laboratory, positioned for easy access to the edge of the continental shelf near the coast of Puerto Rico, Jules’ Undersea Lodge now provides the most full-on diving holiday possible.2
Any certified diver can experience Jules’ Undersea Lodge, presently one of the only two undersea habitats in the world. The other one, Marine Lab, is also within this same Park.3
Guests sometimes describe their visit to inner space as the most incredible experience of their lives. One couple decided on a career change after visiting Jules? Undersea Lodge, and they now operate Aquanauts? Dive Shop.4
Although the underwater hotel may sound like the latest tourist fun spot, Jules? Undersea Lodge, actually began its existence as La Chalupa research laboratory, an underwater habitat used to explore the continental shelf off the coast of Puerto Rico. The mangrove lagoon in which Jules? is located is a natural nursery area for many reef fish.5
Jules? Undersea Lodge manages to reach a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Guests sometimes describe their visit to inner space as the most incredible experience of their lives.6
