He went out with a bang, calling Amalie Benjamin “Amalie Brown” leading into the perfect for segway for Heidi Watney. She will make her official NESN debut as the Boston Red Sox on-field reporter tomorrow but here is a sneak peak of her from today’s game.1

This afternoon NESN made the hiring of Heidi Watney official as the new Red Sox on-field reporter/host. She is replacing Tina Cervasio who left NESN to go closer to home and ended up with a job at MSG.4
The Boston media/fans are going to have a field day with Heidi Watney. Not knowing anything about sports may work in an apathetic city towards sports (Bulldogs) with no pro teams, but in Boston?5
