TALLAHASSEE ? Governor Jeb Bush and Education Commissioner John L. Winn today announced that parents of third and twelfth graders can now view their child?s Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) reading and mathematics scores on the Internet. The scores were posted this morning.1
The first address takes users to a legitimate state Web site that allows parents access to their children’s FCAT scores. Misspelling the address by adding the S takes parents to a revenue-generating fake Web site.2
Some of the janitors had to break windows to get some of the doors open. Some students left because they thought that school was going to be cancelled and they didn’t feel like sitting in a crowded gym for any amount of time, not knowing how long it would take to get all the buildings open.3
Florida students are racking up higher scores on FCAT. Officials at the state Department of Education released the scores today for reading and math exams for third through 10th grade and science exams for grades 5, 8 and 11.4

The results provide a snapshot of where students stand, not in relation to each other, but in relation to their ability to reach educational standards that Floridians expect. These expectations are outlined in the Sunshine State Standards.6
