Bob Stokes
Bob Stokes, a 1983 Greensburg Central Catholic graduate and entering his fifth year wiht the Griffins, has been active coaching in the Greensburg area since 1997. Stokes recently completed his 10th season as Manager of the West Hempfield American Legion Program, taking his team to Regional Tournament in 2005 and is District 31 Runner-Up in 2006.1
In 1895 R. E. (Bob) Stokes (1865-1944), his wife Ada, and their children migrated from Mississippi to Hickory Creek community in Fannin County. Stokes purchased this farm in 1901 and erected this house the following year.2
As co-chair of the Low-Income Texans Committee, Bob Stokes has given both his time and his expertise (as an environmental attorney) to help launch the SAWW (Safe and Affordable Water and Wastewater) project. Stokes says that every big city in Texas has areas with insufficient sewer service, and that such problems are not just in areas such as the colonias along the border.3
