Arts In The Park
Arts in the Park exhibitors went green before “going green” is a trend. Some of the artists you’ll see this weekend at Arts in the Park are inspired by found objects, fallen trees .1
Featuring over 200 arts, crafts and food booths, Arts in the Park is located in downtown Blue Ridge City Park. The best in mountain crafts and fine arts, artist’s demonstrations, music and dance.2
If you’re planning a weekend getaway and are looking for something the whole family will enjoy, head to the North Georgia Mountains and the 32nd Annual Arts in the Park Festival. The festival will feature over 150 arts and crafts and fine art booths along with great food, demonstrations and exhibits.3
Shayne Hall of the Browning Community Development Corp. displays a poster of this year’s Arts in the Park event, as well as a breastplate made of genuine sinew, horsehair, metal and bone by artist Ricky Dale Smith. The breastplate will be the subject of a silent auction, the proceeds from which will be used to fund next year’s Arts in the Park.4
Items offered range from exquisite, museum-quality objets d’art to attractive, everyday items for the home and affordable gifts. Arts in the park has a unique, festive atmosphere, supplied by nearly continuous live music both days of the show, along with food vendors.5
If your are a returning artist, please enclose a check for $85. If you are a new artist to Arts in Central Park or returning after several years, please enclose one check for $100 ($85 for space fee/$15 non-refundable jury fee) made payable to the Decatur Area Arts Council.6
