Anchorman 2
“Semi-Pro,” in which the comedian plays the flamboyant owner of an underdog team in the now-defunct American Basketball Association, opened at No. with estimated earnings of $5.45 million on Friday, tracking firm Box Office Mojo said.1
Actor Will Ferrell and director Kent Alterman brought Semi-Pro to Austin for a special screening, courtesy of Harry Knowles and the folks at Ain’t It Cool News. During a Q&A after the film, Will Ferrell mentioned the fact that he had been performing skits as Ron Burgundy during his Funny or Die Comedy Tour.2
The Human Torch may get denied a bank loan again. Will Ferrell has announced his intention to make a sequel to his 2004 TV news spoof, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.3
The original movie released back in 2004 and went on to earn over $85 million in worldwide ticket sales. That’s pretty good when you consider that the film had only a $26 million budget.4
That will probably keep you busy until this epic is released. Rudd, Carrell, Koechner, and Vaughn better be as cool as they seem and sign on the dotted line.5
mdash; Though they barely ever admitted they were at all a couple, OK! mdash; So far no wedding date has been set, and sources close to the couple tell OK!6
What will Anchorman 2 offer that the first one didn’t? Wasn’t Wake Up, Ron Burgundy already a sequel or is it just more garbage just like the movie?7
