Amanda Congdon, famous for hosting pioneering video show Rocketboom and then famous for making a big fuss about leaving Rocketboom, is coming back to online video on her own terms. She’s posted a teaser for what looks to be a new ensemble comedy show, Sometimesdaily.¹

Live on ABC News, Amanda Congdon took a hit from a Taser gun at CES. Looks like she is serious about making a name for herself as a journalist.²

Congdon, for those who aren’t familiar with her work, was the original host of Rocketboom who was fired in mysterious circumstances back in December 2006. Congdon appeared briefly in 2007 as a video blogger for ABC with the series “Amanda Accross America” until she parted company with ABC in September 2007.³

Ms. Congdon has often appeared to have the presence on camera for various projects catered to Web audiences to make a go at real successful hosting. While she is of course best known for her lengthy stay in the chair at Rocketboom, her most natural fit seems to have been as the face of AmandaAcrossAmerica.⁴

After a nasty public breakup with RocketBoom (where she first gained online notoriety) in July 2006, Congdon signed on with the Endeavor Agency, debuted her eponymous ABC videoblog in December, and subsequently launched her own show online, Starring Amanda Congdon. She also participated in a series of online “infotainmercials” for DuPont (DD), raising ethical questions over conflict of interest.⁵
