When adopting passing standards, what the board actually adopts is a scale score and the requirement that equivalent performance be maintained on future tests. Since the TAKS tests may differ in difficulty across administrations, the raw score cuts may vary across test administrations.2
Please ensure that your 8th grader gets plenty of rest the evening before the test and that he/she eats a healthy breakfast the morning of the test. Testing will begin at 8:30 AM so please ensure your child arrives to school by 8:20 AM.3
All visitors to Terry Middle School (parents, guardians, volunteers, contractors, etc.) will now be required to present a valid state issued ID in the office. The ID number will be entered into the new V-Soft computer system.4
Peer Tutoring is available for any student that has a desire for additional help in any subject area. Tutoring is available on Tuesdays - Fridays from 7:30 - 8:15 AM in Room 22.5
Repaired defective computers and electronic equipment/systems (networks) for the school, thus?saving the district thousands in outsourcing. Since 68% of the district?s student population is at, or below, the poverty level, the outdated Windows 95 and 98 computers were repaired and formatted, then given to the children who did not have computers at home.6
